6 sessions | 60mns/session

Session 1: Cells and their Genetic Material

This session introduces students to cells and their internal structure. They explore DNA as the body’s instruction manual, how genes influence traits, and how chromosomes are inherited from parents.

Session 2: Mutations

Students learn about mutations—what they are, what causes them, and how they can be beneficial, harmful, or neutral. They explore genetic conditions like progeria, albinism, and dwarfism, and understand how mutations drive diversity in humans, animals, and plants.

Session 3: Vaccines

This session explains how vaccines train the immune system using weakened or dead pathogens. Students learn about vaccine schedules, herd immunity, and how vaccines eliminated diseases like smallpox and controlled others like polio. It also covers flu vaccines, myths, and future advancements like edible vaccines.

Session 4: Weird Diseases

Students explore extremely rare diseases that affect appearance, senses, or lifestyle. The session fosters empathy while teaching about genetics, skin pigmentation, and the importance of inclusion and kindness.

Session 5: Mental Illnesses

This session focuses on the brain and how mental disorders like OCD, ADHD, anxiety, and rare conditions arise. It emphasizes the link between genetics and mental health, promoting inclusion and support for those affected.

Session 6: Gene Therapy

Students explore gene therapy as a powerful tool to treat genetic diseases. They learn about CRISPR, virus vectors, and how gene editing can fix conditions like cystic fibrosis, hemophilia, and muscular dystrophy. The session ends with exciting future possibilities like disease-free living and designer genes.
